KUALA LUMPUR: A group of students from the Department of Media Studies of Universiti Malaya had invited Malaysia famous influencers as their speakers to their forum titled "A Guide On Influencing: How To Build An Online Audience" under the subject AIM2008 Persuasive Communication.
This forum project is established as one of the platforms to guide people to build an online audience as an influencer or future influencer and it was conducted through the YouTube live stream on 8 Jan 2021, 11.30 am until 1.00 pm.

The forum was conducted through the YouTube live stream on 8 Jan 2021.
They had Mr. Azrul Affandi Sobry, a reporter of New Straits Times and content creator on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook, and also Mr. Ceddy Ang, a foodie influencer and TikTok content creator as their respected guest speakers.
At the start of the forum, they talked about why they became an influencer and shared some of their experiences. Moreover, they talked about their personal opinions and views on influencers and the future development of influencers in Malaysia. They also generously shared their secrets and experience in building an online influence with all the participants.
“I have learned that we have to be ourselves in order to be a good persuader. I think maybe in the future it may be useful to me since I'm a future teacher, so I may be a good persuader in my educational profession in order to educate my students well,” said Kausalyaa A/P S. Suppiah, one of the participants of the forum from faculty of education.
“I have gained some knowledge that could help me to attract more customers to my business career in the future. I would give 10/10 for the speakers because they gave very useful tips to the viewers on how to build an online audience,” said Lau Wei Jie, another participant that joined the forum from the faculty of business and accountancy.
